I am not getting pregnant what should I do

November 04, 2026•7 min read

You're here because you're asking, 'I am not getting pregnant what should I do?'

I hear you! And the same frustration from countless others in a similar situation to you every day. You are not alone and you are not to blame.

The journey to parenthood is emotionally charged and complex for so many couples.

Holistic fertility approach

While the desire to conceive is often accompanied by the belief that a healthy lifestyle and normal reproductive health should naturally lead to pregnancy, the reality is that numerous factors can influence fertility, sometimes in ways that are not immediately apparent.

For couples who find themselves asking, "Why am I not getting pregnant when everything is normal?" it is essential to understand that fertility is not solely dictated by physical health.

Even in the absence of overt medical issues, subtle biological, environmental, and psychological factors can play a significant role in conception.

Body symptoms and fertility

This article aims to explore the multifaceted nature of fertility, delving into potential hidden challenges that may hinder conception despite seemingly optimal conditions. By examining these various influences, couples can gain valuable insights into their reproductive health and consider the next steps on their journey toward parenthood.

Understanding fertility issues

Whether it involves lifestyle adjustments, medical evaluations, or emotional support, understanding the complexities of fertility can empower individuals and couples to navigate their unique paths with greater clarity and confidence.

Infertility blood tests limitations

Blood tests can only look at so much, have a watch of this video to understand what I mean by that, cos I appreciate it can sound a little 'unusual'.

Discovering infertility root cause

So if blood tests can't give us the entire story to why you're not getting pregnant when you're trying your best to do everything right, how do we fix this?

We need to understand the additional information that your body is telling you every day. It's not your fault that you have missed these, I did the same thing when I was in your position. That's why I trained and became a natural fertility coach over 16 years ago.

Natural fertility coach and fertility coaching online

As a natural fertility coach, my role is not to hand you another generic list of supplements, foods and fertility hacks. Fertility Bandwidth™ looks at the wider picture — your history, symptoms, hormones, nutrition, gut health, inflammation, sleep and recovery — to help identify what may deserve attention first, while working alongside appropriate medical fertility care.

Online fertility coaching

Online fertility coaching works because most of what we need to understand is not something I need to physically examine you for. It is in your history, symptoms, test results, cycle patterns, previous treatment and how those clues fit together.

In fact, working online often gives us more continuity because we can review, adapt and follow what is changing over time. If something needs a scan, blood test or medical examination, that belongs with the appropriate clinician. My job is to help you make sense of the wider picture and decide what will be your biggest needle mover next.

Self-managed fertility plan

There is nothing wrong with managing your own fertility plan. The problem starts when “self-managed” becomes “try everything and hope something sticks”.

If you are doing this yourself, you still need a way to decide what actually matters. Which symptoms are relevant? Which test results deserve attention? Which changes are sensible, and which are just adding more noise?

A good self-managed fertility plan should be focused, evidence-aware and built around your patterns — not a collection of supplements, Facebook advice and fertility hacks borrowed from other women.

Free fertility analysis with tailored fertility questions

That includes a free infertility assessment whereby tailored fertility questions help me analyse infertility symptoms, things you probably won't have thought of before and tie it all together.

The answers on this Fertility health assessment is something that doctors and Western trained fertility specialists don't do. That's not me saying they're doing something wrong, their job is to look at medical results. Mine as your natural fertility coach is to look at what everything and I mean everything, means when it's all tied together.

Because nothing found is not the same as nothing wrong.

Infertility symptoms

Infertility symptoms fall into the hundreds. And their meaning very much depends on how something cross correlates.

A light period on its own does not tell us very much. If it sits alongside low oestrogen and a thin uterine lining, it may point us in one direction. If it appears alongside major weight loss, poor sleep or heavy training, it may mean something quite different. Add thyroid changes, PCOS, perimenopause or medication and the picture changes again. Fertility is a complex web — the meaning comes from how the clues fit together, not from one symptom in isolation.

This is the absolute joy of bringing both Western and Eastern fertility science together.

Understanding hormonal balance

Hormones are one part of that web. Oestrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones, insulin, FSH and LH all influence different parts of the fertility process, but looking at one number in isolation can be misleading.

What matters is the pattern — how those hormones behave alongside your cycle, symptoms, sleep, stress, nutrition, inflammation and stage of life. That wider context is where useful clues start to appear. Are these what you'd naturally think of as common signs of infertility?

Why am I not getting pregnant?

It's unlikely that there's one neat answer hiding behind a single symptom or test result.

Pregnancy depends on a whole chain of things working together — ovulation, egg quality, sperm health, hormones, the uterine environment, nutrient status, inflammation, thyroid function, metabolic health and timing, amongst many others.

Fertility support for women

Sometimes one factor stands out. Sometimes several smaller issues are adding up. And sometimes the standard tests come back “normal” but the wider pattern still gives us a different idea that we can use to build on where the tests came back neutral.

That's why I would never start with, “What supplement should you take?” I would start with, “What is your body actually showing us?” That's what I mean when I talk about Fertility health insights

Personal fertility plan

Once we've established why you're not getting pregnant, what you should do next is follow a personal fertility plan which is full of personal fertility recommendations and tips for boosting fertility naturally based on what's happening within you. This is essentially what to do if I'm not getting pregnant.

There are two ways that you can do this. You start by taking FREE fertility analysis and then from there either:

  1. With my help where I show you what to do and at what speed (speed is important, too much too soon and you end up working against an overworked body by overloading it with too many changes at once).

  2. Managing infertility at home on your own. Take the information you have and implement it yourself because I'm all about empowering women in fertility journey, there isn't enough of this around. It seems that some white coats thrive on you not understanding what's happening inside your own body and that's not what we're about at Fertility Bandwidth. I genuinely think this exacerbates the fertility challenges women face.

Either way is fine. The big thing is that you don't go ahead and just do everything and hope that something works. Because this is, as I say above, how you damage your fertility in trying so hard it backfires.

What do I mean by that?

Infertility management tips

Think about it like this. You're learning to cook a Michelin dinner. You can do this by learning to cook one signature dish a month until you can host a 5-course dinner. Compare that to being thrown into a 3-Michelin-star kitchen on Friday night rush hour with zero training. Which would cause you the most stress?

Our body reacts in the same way, we're just the one person after-all. And so, if you pile too much on in the wrong order, then this is where the stress kicks in and this works against fertility. Stress actually turns off your fertility hormones - did you know that?

Unexplained infertility solutions

Whichever way you decide to go, I can not stress enough the importance of fertility analysis because doing everything is worse than doing nothing. You can read about that here in more detail.
